Kansas Wheat - 2015 Ornament
The Kansas Agricultural Society formed in 1862 to encourage farmers to grow winter wheat with plantings in the fall and harvest in the spring. In 1888 the Topeka Daily Capital declare "All parts of Kansas grow good corn, but in wheat Kansas can beat the world." That prediction came true when wheat surpassed corn production in 1910. Kansas gained the reputation as the "Wheat State" and the "Breadbasket of the World." The Kansas Historical Society's 2015 ornament celebrates wheat production, one of the Notable Events in Kansas History.

Ornament is glass with a brown ribbon. 3" in diameter.
