Amelia Earhart with Plane
Amelia Earhart poses her with her airplane, the Kinner Airster, after her first solo flight in Los Angeles, California, in 1921. Earhart was a native of Atchison, Kansas, who became an aviation pioneer. She was the first woman to fly solo over the Atlantic Ocean and to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross. Earhart was named among the top 25 notable Kansans in 2011. From the collections of the Kansas Historical Society, the print was produced for the Kansas Historical Foundation.
