Albin Longren's First Airplane
This photograph features Albin K. Longren’s biplane in Winfield, Kansas, on November 25, 1911. The biplane was built in Topeka, Kansas, and first flown on September 2, 1911, the first successful Kansas-built plane to fly. The fifth version of this airplane, made in 1914, is on display at the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka. From the collections of the Kansas Historical Society, the print was produced for the Kansas Historical Foundation.
