Kansas State Fair 1895
This poster promoted the Kansas State Fair to be held in Wichita, Kansas, in 1895. The colorful illustration shows a bountiful harvest including watermelon, apples, squash, grapes, celery, turnips, peaches, gourds, and a pumpkin. Prior to state legislation in 1913, several communities held state fairs. That legislation designated that the official state fair would be held in Hutchinson. From the collections of the Kansas Historical Society, the print was produced for the Kansas Historical Foundation.
