The Kansas History Resource Packets are designed to make primary resource material on specific topics readily available to teachers and students. Each packet contains a teacher's guide and 40 items such as facsimiles of letters, journals, photographs, government documents, and newspapers. The teacher's guide contains a background essay, a verbatim transcription of unpublished items in the packet, an explanation of the time, a discussion, and additional activities for study and research. A bibliography of selected readings and resources and an index are included in the teacher's manual. Teachers may make multiple copies of the documents in the packets for student use.
