This Czech Egg features the Czech word for love: Laska, and was hand decorated by Kepka Belton (1934-2019) of Ellsworth, Kansas. Kepka used chicken and geese eggs and a special waxing and dyeing technique to decorate the eggs. She learned the art of kraslice from her grandmother. Her ancestors immigrated to Kansas in 1876 from a little town north of Prague, Czechoslovakia.
